West Virginia DEP Secretary Defends New Horizontal Well Regulations

West Virginia's Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection defended his agency's new rules on horizontal well activities and stated that the rules are sound, sufficient. The Secretary made his comments during the recent Annual Meeting of the West Virginia Oil & Natural Gas Association.  The DEP's regulations continue to come under fire by environmental and surface owner groups.
